Rheinpromenade traces the Rhine’s west bank through Remagen, linking the town center with broad views across the river toward Erpel and the wooded slopes of the eastern bank. The scene combines everyday river life—cargo barges, excursion boats and changing currents—with reminders of Remagen’s strategic setting. South of the central promenade, the surviving towers of the former Ludendorff railway bridge mark the site of the famous 1945 Rhine crossing, while the neo-Gothic Apollinariskirche rises above the town.
