The Resurrection of Christ Orthodox Cathedral is a spectacular architectural sight in Tirana, Albania. It was opened in 2011 and is the largest religious building in the country. The cathedral is a major symbol of the Albanian Orthodox Church and is designed in the modernist style with a domed central chamber and a cross-shaped transept. Inside, the visitors can admire a variety of vivid frescoes, colourful mosaics and a golden iconostasis. The cathedral has an impressive fixed choir and many musical events are held there. It is surrounded by a park with a fountain and terraced paths that are inspired by the mountain landscape. The cathedral is one of the must-see places in Tirana.
