Reichsburg Cochem is an enchanting castle in the beautiful town of Cochem, Germany. Located on a hill above the Moselle River, the castle dominates the town in the picturesque Mosel Valley. Built in the 12th century, the castle was first owned by the Counts of Cochem and later by the Princes of Salm-Salm before it was destroyed in 1689 by Louis XIV of France. It was rebuilt in the 19th century in a neo-Gothic style. Visitors can explore the towers, ramparts, and walls, stroll through the gardens and admire the breathtaking views of the Moselle Valley from the castle. Adventurous visitors can also hike from the town to the castle. The castle is open all year round and it's a must-see attraction in the region!
