Registon Maydoni and Registan Square in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, is a stunning historical monument considered to be one of the greatest landmarks of the region. Registan maydoni is an isometric group of three buildings, on three sides of a square, which was used for royal ceremonies, and is now the centerpiece of the Registan. The building, of blue-tiled domes and minarets, is incredible architecturally with impressive decoration and artwork both inside and out. The square is surrounded by shops, tea houses and bazaars, creating a vibrant and unusual atmosphere and a great place to experience the daily life of Samarkand. Visitors can also view ancient Islamic artifacts and learn about the history, culture, and architecture of the site. It is definitely a must visit on any trip to Samarkand!
