Gates of Heaven, Bali
The Gates of Heaven (Lempuyang Temple) are among the most iconic landscapes in Bali that no traveler should miss. Located on the eastern side of Bali, the temple is perched atop a mountain and is accessible via a steep 1000+step staircase. The views from the temple mount, overlooking the Agung mountain and the surrounding rice terraces, are simply breathtaking! The archaeological temple complex dates back to hundreds of years and is composed of seven structures, with the oldest one (the Gates) situated on the highest peak. The ancient structures are surrounded by lush green fields and there are two separate pathways to the entrance of the temple, adding to its grandeur. Seeing the Gates of Heaven, in shadows of the beautiful Agung volcano and the sea of clouds below is something that you'll never forget!
