The Red Telephone Box in London is an iconic symbol of the United Kingdom. It was designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in 1924, and first installed in London in 1926. The bright red public phone box stands as a testament to the days before the ubiquitous use of mobile phones and internet access. The boxes were installed throughout the UK and were a common sight in the urban landscape. Although the telephone boxes are dwindling in number, you can still find some in the Greater London region. Although they are no longer used as their original purpose, they make a great photo backdrop and often feature in films and television productions.
