📍 From Inside, Switzerland
Rechtswissenschaftliches or ‘Legal Sciences’ building is part of the University of Zurich in the Swiss city of Zurich. Located in the old quarter of the city, it is a celebrated example of early 20th-century architecture. Designed by German architect Heinrich Ernst, it was completed in 1929 and is a landmark in Zurich’s old town. Its exterior features an appealing blend of modern and neo-classical styles, with Art Deco-style details. Inside are many historical features; the building's assembly hall has restored 19th-century paintings that adorn the domed ceiling. Visitors to the building can explore its façade and take in the interesting details. Guided tours are available with the Zurich Tourism Board if you wish to learn more about the building. As Rechtswissenschaftliches is part of the University of Zurich, parts of it are closed to the public on weekends.
