
Rathausplatz or City Hall Square in Vienna, Austria is the centre of public administration for the city. Surrounded by local and government buildings, it's a great spot to take in the city architecture. With a magnificent fountain at its centre, the area is often used for a variety of cultural events and performances, plus it's a great place for a leisurely stroll. Several important monuments such as the 'Rathausmann', a large bronze of a businessman, and the 'Rathausbrunnen' ornamental fountain, are found here. The majestic Vienna City Hall which opened in 1883 is a great sight and the site of the annual Vienna City Marathon.
