The Railway Museum in Utrecht, Netherlands is a must-see for any train enthusiast. The historical museum, opened in 1935, houses an impressive collection of vintage railway equipment, locomotives and other railway related artifacts. The museum explains the 1901 opening of the Utrecht Central Station, and traces the evolution of local railroad engineering from steam and diesel to electric rolls. Visitors can learn about the inventions of famous Dutch railway builders of the twentieth century. There are also real locomotives showcased here and a beautiful restored ‘Museum Room’, showing how trains were used in the past. The museum also has interactive features, an on-board train, and a shop and café.
