Rådhuset Station is located in the Kungsholmen area of Stockholm in Sweden and is a great place to explore the beautiful sights of the city. Originally opened with the completion of the Stockholm Metro system in the 1950s, Rådhuset Station is one of the system's busiest underground stops. During your exploration of this station, you will find that the roof is lined with red and yellow tiles, brightening up the otherwise grey walls of the station. An architectural highlight of Rådhuset Station is the ceiling fresco done by artist Paul Gimmi which features mysterious faces in various gold shades. Another interesting feature of the station is the small museum located just outside the station’s entrance which showcases its history and artifacts from the early days of the Stockholm Subway system. Nearby Rådhuset Station, visitors can explore the Rådhuset Square, which features a mix of modern day and historical architecture, including the 19th century wooden cottage believed to be the oldest building in the city.
