📍 From Church, United Kingdom
The Radcliffe Camera is an iconic 18th century library building located in the city of Oxford, England. It is part of the University of Oxford, the oldest university in the English-speaking world. The Camera was designed by James Gibbs and completed in 1749 and is an example of Palladian architecture. Inside, there are endless shelves and corridors filled with rare books, manuscripts, and maps. The surrounding Garden Quadrangle is surrounded by other impressive buildings from the University, including the 18th century Divinity School and the 18th century Convocation House. There are also beautiful gardens in front of the quadrangle for visitors to explore. Photographers should be aware that the Camera is not open to the public, but there are plenty of interesting spots in the surrounding area to take pictures.
