📍 From Iron Pillar, India
Qutub Minar and Iron Pillar are two of Delhi's most popular monuments. Qutub Minar is a towering 73m high tower and an UNESCO World Heritage Site. It stands as a testament to the might of the Mughal Empire and its brilliance in architecture and engineering. Surrounding this landmark are other lesser monuments, but still worth visiting, such as the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque and the Alai Darwaza. The Iron Pillar, located in the courtyard of Qutub, is a testament to the advanced metallurgic capabilities and lasting metalworks of the ancient Indians of the Gupta Empire. It has stood there since the 4th century and (understood to) be made out of 98% wrought iron, making it resistant to corrosion. Both these monuments along with many other historic sites in the vicinity make it an ideal tourist spot.
