The Queensboro Bridge in New York City, is a cantilever bridge that spans the East River, connecting the boroughs of Manhattan and Queens. Opened in 1909 and designed by Gustav Lindenthal, it is 1,600-feet long, with eight lanes of traffic, a pedestrian walkway and two subway tracks. Located in an area with many great attractions such as Roosevelt Island, Central Park and more, the Queensboro Bridge provides some of the best skyline views of NYC. Connected to the south end of the bridge is the iconic 59th Street Bridge, which is immortalized in the Simon & Garfunkel song. Sightseeing boats often pass under, and the bridge also has many drawbridges to let ships sail by. There are many restaurants, shops and viewpoints all around the bridge, making it a great place to visit.
