📍 France
Quai de France traces the Isère at the foot of Grenoble’s Bastille hill, close to the Porte de France, the historic western approach to the city. The riverfront brings together several defining layers of Grenoble: stone embankments, old urban façades, bridges and the steep limestone slopes rising immediately behind them. From the quay, the Isère creates long reflections and open sightlines toward the center, while the mountain walls surrounding the city give even ordinary street scenes an unusual sense of scale.
