Second largest among Giza's pyramids, the Pyramid of Khafre features remnants of its original limestone casing near the apex. Built around 2570 BCE for Pharaoh Khafre, son of Khufu, it appears taller than the Great Pyramid due to higher bedrock. Inside, narrow corridors lead to a simple burial chamber once housing the king’s sarcophagus. Part of a larger complex, it lies near the iconic Great Sphinx, believed to bear Khafre’s likeness. Crowds and heat are best avoided by visiting in the early morning. Bring lightweight clothing, sun protection, and plenty of water for an unforgettable experience.
