Πύλη Κανονιών is a small coastal gate—literally "Cannon Gate"—set on the shoreline of Vouliagmeni, the southern Athens suburb facing the Saronic Gulf. As a fragmentary masonry portal on the water’s edge, it functions as a local visual marker rather than a large fortification; its rough stone and aged mortar contrast with the smooth expanse of sea, creating a deliberate frame for seaward vistas. Photographically, the structure excels at compositional framing: shoot low to include foreground textures of wet rock and tide pools, or backlight it at sunset for a silhouette against pastel skies and the distant headlands. The spot is reached from the coastal promenade and sits amid public waterfront access; respect the shoreline and private properties nearby.
