📍 United States
Pulpit Rock Park is an urban open space in northern Colorado Springs, near the University of Colorado Colorado Springs campus. Its namesake sandstone outcrop rises above grassland and pine-dotted slopes, creating a striking natural landmark amid the surrounding city. The rock’s pale, weathered surfaces contrast with the darker trees, while trails reveal changing views of its bulky profile. From the higher ground, the panorama takes in Colorado Springs and the Front Range, with Pikes Peak dominating the western horizon. Photographs here can capture both scales of the landscape: the rugged texture of the rock itself and the city spread beneath a much larger mountain backdrop.
