The Pula Amphitheatre is one of the best-preserved amphitheatres in the world and a must-see destination for anyone visiting Pula. It was built by the Romans some two thousand years ago and is the seventh largest surviving ancient amphitheatre in the world. It is a vast open-air theatre with a seating capacity of 20,000 spectators. Inside, you will find intricate arches, passageways and staircases, and the original entrance still exists. Visitors can explore the massive stone structure on the inside, but the red-tiled roof and the three-tiered seating areas remain visible from the outside. It has hosted several large events, such as concerts, plays and gladiator fights, in its time. Today, it is open to the public as an open-air museum and a popular tourist attraction.
