Puente de la Unidad links Isla Aguada, on the Campeche mainland, with Puerto Real at the eastern end of Isla del Carmen. It spans the Boca de Puerto Real, one of the channels connecting Laguna de Términos with the Gulf of Mexico, placing it at the meeting point of lagoon and sea. The current concrete bridge opened in 2019, replacing an older crossing, and carries the coastal highway toward Ciudad del Carmen. Its long, low deck and evenly spaced piers draw a strong horizontal line across the open water, while fishing boats along Isla Aguada’s waterfront give a sense of scale and connect the scene to the town’s maritime life.
