The Puente de la Mujer ("Woman's Bridge") is an iconic bridge in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Designed by Spanish architect, Santiago Calatrava, and completed in 2001, the bridge links the north and south sides of the city. The unique and curvaceous shape of the bridge has become an iconic symbol of the Argentine capital and its diversity. The bridge itself is made of steel and contains a rotating platform that allows ships to pass through. Visitors can admire the bridge from the terraces of Puerto Madero, the neighborhood near the bridge, or take a leisurely stroll across it. Climb up the stairs to the pinnacle of the bridge for a breathtaking view of the La Boca neighborhood and Puerto Madero´s docklands. Photography is allowed from both sides and at any time of the day, with the bridge illuminated at night.
