Prima Cappelluccia is a small devotional landmark on the ascent of Monte Ingino above Gubbio, along the route linking the medieval city with the Basilica of Sant’Ubaldo. Its significance comes from the Festa dei Ceri, held each 15 May, when teams carry three towering wooden structures dedicated to Saints Ubaldo, Giorgio, and Antonio through Gubbio and up the mountain. The modest chapel and steep, wooded road convey the physical effort and religious character of that final climb. Photographs here are defined less by monumental architecture than by stonework, forest textures, sharp changes in elevation, and glimpses toward Gubbio; during the festival, the normally quiet route becomes one of the celebration’s most intense passages.
