๐ From Viewpoint, Norway
Preikestolen, or Pulpit Rock, is one of Norway's most iconic tourist attractions. Located in the Strand Municipality in Rogaland County, it is a massive cliff face that overlooks the Lysefjord and stands at 604 meters (1982 feet). It is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Norway and is renowned for its sheer drop and stunning views. Hiking to Preikestolen is a popular activity among tourists, and the view from the top is nothing short of breathtaking. The round trip hike up to the top of the mountain lasts around four to five hours, making it a full day out. The trail is well-maintained and well-marked, but visitors are warned to borrow extra caution when rounding the top as the edge is exposed. At the top, there are wooden stairs and a viewing platform, allowing visitors to have a better view of the Lysefjord and the nearby mountains. It is important for visitors to bring their own snacks, enough water, and dress appropriately for the different weather conditions. At the summit, visitors get to enjoy stunning views of the surrounding Norwegian landscape.
