📍 From Drone, Switzerland
Pozz di Vacch is a natural basin carved by the Verzasca River in its steep, wooded valley in Ticino. Its dialect name means “cow pool,” linking the site to the valley’s rural landscape, while the scene itself is defined by clear emerald water and pale, water-smoothed gneiss. Submerged rock ledges, swirling reflections and contrasting forest shadows give the pool its distinctive depth and color; both change noticeably with sunlight and river level. Rather than a built landmark, it is a compact example of the erosive force that shaped Verzasca’s celebrated rock channels and pools.
