The Porto Cathedral is an incredible and impressive example of Romanesque architecture located in the heart of the city of Porto in Portugal. Characterized by its impressive Gothic-style cloisters, high naves and magnificent moulded archivolts, the Cathedral is also a remarkable historical monument. Once the seat of the former bishopric of Porto, it now serves as the main place of the Diocese of Porto and the Archbishop of the city. Its facade is made up of a tall, three-story Romanesque bell tower with a mix of baroque and neo-classical elements, while the interior is dominated by a single nave in the shape of a Latin cross, along with a main chapel and two small octagonal chapels. There are also beautiful 17th Century chapels that have been decorated with beautiful altar art from the same period.
