Porticciolo di Mondello and Spiaggia Libera are two linked attractions, located along the stunning coast of Palermo, Italy. The porticciolo is a picturesque little harbor area separated from the open sea and the beach of Mondello by a long breakwater, which serves as a great viewing point for the beach, the open sea and the rocky coastline beyond. The beach of Spiaggia Libera stretches along the sheltered harbor and is the ideal spot for long and relaxing days in the sun. It is mostly sandy, with patches of rocks and areas of shadow provided by the houses, grottos and piers that dot it. The beach is equipped with several restaurants and facilities, offering everything from grills, salad bars and ice-cream shops to pubs and night clubs. There is also kayak and jet ski rental, as well as a diving school.
