The ancient Porta Saragozza in Bologna, Italy is a huge city gate of Bologna's University City. Sitting atop a hill, the unique trapezoidal shape of the gate is unmistakable. The fortification was originally built in the 15th century, but was bombed during World War II and had to be reconstructed. Despite the reconstruction, most of the original stones were reused for the rebuilt gate. Today visitors can climb the walls and take in the panoramic view of the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Bologna. To get to the gate, visitors simply have to take the number 19 bus, and get off on the Stop University.
