Porta Pusterla is a historic gateway in the walls of Feltre’s hilltop old town, in the province of Belluno, Veneto. In the language of fortifications, a pusterla is a small secondary gate, rather than a principal city entrance. Its arched passage and stairway approach reveal the steep connection between the lower town and the compact historic centre above. The steps, weathered masonry and narrow view through the opening give photographs a tangible sense of Feltre’s defensive architecture and hillside setting.
