Porta Dieda is a historic gateway on the southern side of Bassano del Grappa’s old town, associated with the former lower castle rather than the hilltop Castello degli Ezzelini. Its broad façade rises above an arched street passage, with weathered painted decoration recalling the town’s long connection with the Venetian Republic. The contrast between the dark archway and the faded colors above gives the entrance its visual character. Seen along the street, the arch frames the town beyond, while adjoining façades show how an older defensive structure has become part of Bassano’s everyday urban fabric.
