Porta de Serrans is a spectacular historical architectural site in València, Spain. Built around 1590, the grand stone entrance was part of the old, ancient walls that surrounded the old city of València, providing protection from invaders. In the centre of the gate stands a beautiful statue of Saint Barbara, the patron saint of artillerymen, to whom the gate was dedicated to. The structure and detail of the gate is a masterpiece of 16th century architecture, featuring a series of classical and Renaissance arches. The exterior offers a view of the coast and is a great place for city reflections and silhouettes. The site also features Pou de la Figuera, a well-known tree honoring fallen soldiers, and The Tower of San Firmian, the iconic tower that marks the entrance to València. Porta de Serrans is a unique spot that allows visitors to explore and admire the beauty of València’s past.
