Port de la Clota is the fishing port and marina of L’Escala, a Costa Brava town in Girona province, beside the southern end of Platja de Riells. It brings the town’s maritime identity into view: L’Escala is closely associated with anchovies and the tradition of preserving them in salt. Working fishing boats share the harbour with leisure craft, connecting that older economy with coastal tourism. Rows of yacht masts, mooring lines and enclosing breakwaters define the waterfront, while views toward the Bay of Roses contrast the sheltered harbour basins with the wider sea.
