One of the most unique and spectacular attractions in Italy is the Ponte Sospeso di San Marcello Pistoiese, located in San Marcello Piteglio. This suspension bridge, 40 metres long, is the oldest of its kind in the world, with a history that reaches back to the 12th century. It is made out of stone, with low railings and an arched shape that gives it an almost ethereal look. The bridge is open to the public and is used for local festivals and celebrations. It is an extraordinary experience to cross the bridge and take in the picturesque views of the wooded valley below it, a perfect spot for nature lovers and photographers alike.
