The Ponte Panoramico di Civita in Bagnoregio is an iconic footbridge in Italy. Connecting the town of Civita directly with the main part of Bagnoregio, it stretches 112 meters in length and soars 50 meters high above the valley below. Built in 1965, the bridge offers locals and visitors alike stunning views, with an uninterrupted 360-degree perspective of the surrounding region, from the Apennine mountains in the distance to the vast valley below. Most of the bridge is made of reinforced concrete, except for four pillars at each end made of volcanic stone, known as 'tufa', to commemorate the ancient civilization of the Etruscans. The bridge is closed to vehicular traffic, but is open to pedestrians who come to see the stunning natural scenery below and to explore the ruins of Civita. Whether you're a local or a traveler, the breathtaking views from the bridge will leave you mesmerized.
