Ponte Dom Luís I and Castelo de Santarém are two fantastic attractions located in Santarém, Portugal. The Dom Luis I Bridge is a two-level bridge, crossing the Tagus River between two cities: Lisbon and Porto. It is an impressive structure, built in 1886, with steel panels and an Iron and Cast Iron bridge and offers magnificent views of the city and the Tagus Valley. The lower level has 4 lanes, while the upper level is reserved exclusively for pedestrians and cyclists. On the Porto side of the bridge, one can visit the Portugal dos Pequenitos Park - a miniature theme park with miniature replicas of famous Portuguese monuments. Castelo de Santarém, built in the 10th century, is one of the oldest and most important Portuguese castles. It features the traditional circular layout of a Moorish castle, surrounded by thick walls with five cylindrical towers. From the castle's terraces, one can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the city and the Tagus Valley. The castle is also home to the National Museum of Archaeology, where visitors can learn about the history of the region.
