
Ponte della Fortezza is a historic fortified stone bridge located in Pisa, Italy. The bridge crosses the Arno river and leads straight to the 11th century Fortezza di Pisa. It was created in 1545 as a bridge that would link the walls of Pisa to the Fortezza, and it was constructed in the style of a medieval fort. The imposing brick and stone structure is 250 meters long and 7 meters wide, and it is lined with 17 distinctive towers and bastions. The bridge has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site, and tourists can walk across its length to get a closer look at the Fortezza.
