The Ponte dei Sospiri is a beautiful Renaissance-style bridge in Venice, Italy. Located at the entrance of the Doge's Palace, it connects a courtyard within the Palace to the prisons on the other side of the canal. As a result, it has become known as the Bridge of Sighs, due to the fact that prisoners were known to sigh when looking out to the beautiful Venetian lagoon, knowing their fate was sealed. Although the bridge is now off limits, visitors can still appreciate its beauty, and get that special photo opportunity without actually going on the bridge, as it is perfect for views from the opposite side of the canal. Furthermore, the bridge is lit up at night making for some truly breathtaking images. So exploe the vibrant of Venezia, with the Ponte dei Sospiri as an unforgettable backdrop!
