
Pont Vieux of Carcassonne is a historical stone bridge crossing the Aude River in Carcassonne, France. Built around 1020-1060, this gothic stone bridge is an impressive architectural triumph. It stands 54 meters long, 8 meters wide and is only accessible to pedestrians, providing a stunning view of the 13th century fortified city and its hilltop castle tower (La Cité). The bridge features a five pointed arch that divides the bridge into two sections. Pont Vieux of Carcassonne is definitely a must-see while in the area and be sure to take a picture of the surrounding views.
