Pont Napoléon is an elegant pedestrian bridge with a distinctive wrought iron archway located in the heart of Lille, France. The bridge was designed by French architect, Gustave Eiffel, and opened in 1871. The bridge's name honours Napoleon I, the 'Emperor of the French', and features an impressive sculptural relief of Napoleon flanked by two allegorical figures at its entrance. It offers skyline views of Lille's captivating cityscape and provides an iconic backdrop for photographs. On the east side of the bridge is the charming Place de la République and Place du Concert, where visitors can appreciate a variety of charming cafés, terraces, and boutiques. Pont Napoléon is the iconic jewel of the Grand'Place district, and is an absolute must-see for visitors to Lille.
