📍 From Barranc del Diable, Spain
Pont del Diable, located in the province of Tarragona in Spain, is one of the most impressive medieval monuments in the Iberian Peninsula. It is a 12th century Romanesque bridge with an arch, and is one of the oldest Roman structures in the region. The bridge spans the gorge of the River Francolí and is crowned by a statue of the Devil. Its lower arches have pointed arches decorated with three-lobed Roman style. Legend has it that the devil was tricked into building the bridge and, as punishment, was placed in the statue. While visiting the bridge, visitors can enjoy the stunning views of the Gorge from all angles. The bridge provides a perfect backdrop for visitors looking to take beautiful photos of nature. Moreover, the bridge is the perfect spot for a picnic and for hiking.
