Plaza Rey San Fernando is a small civic square in the historic center of Burgos, named for Saint Ferdinand, the medieval Castilian king. As a compact urban room, it captures the layering of the city: stone paving, contiguous façades and shopfronts that reflect Burgos’s mix of medieval plan and later urban infill. Photographically it rewards intimate street compositions—people on benches, café terraces and the play of shadow on textured masonry—where tight geometries and everyday life provide contrast to the city’s larger monuments.
