Plaza del Vaticano is one of the most iconic squares in downtown Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located on Paseo de Julio, next to the Obelisk, the square holds an important place in the city's history. The square was built in honor of Pope Pius XII, and is home to the impressive and iconic domed Vatican Church. The square also features a number of other statues, such as a statue of Pope John Paul II and a number of monuments dedicated to the Argentine city's famous revolutionaries.
