The Plaza de Toros in València is an iconic venue located in the city's old town. It is one of the oldest bullfighting arenas in Spain, and was originally constructed in 1781. It has been renowned for its outstanding architecture, with a classical and neoclassical style, and is a prime example of Valencian Baroque architecture. Inside, visitors can explore two separate rings and two courtyards, featuring a wealth of colorful frescoes and sculptures designed by celebrated local artists. The arena continues to host bullfights, but is also open to the public for guided tours and events. While the Plaza de Toros is worth a visit in and of itself, it is also located close to other major attractions, such as the Valencian History Museum, the Silk Exchange, and the Valencian Institute of Modern Art.
