The Plaza de Toros de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, in Sevilla, Spain, is one of the most famous bullfighting arenas in the world. Built in 1758 and renovated during the 19th century, it can hold up to 12,000 people. Inside is a chapel dedicated to San Jose, who is the Patron Saint of Bullfighting. The stadium is surrounded by 13 arches, decorating the outside and serving as a reminder of Sevilla's rich cultural history. While tourists are not allowed inside the bullring to attend a bullfight, there are guided tours that take visitors through all the areas, including the bull's underneath, the presidential box, and the chapel. There is also a museum with bullfighting related memorabilia such as posters, costumes, paintings, and more. Taking a tour of the venue will provide a unique insight into this centuries old Spanish tradition.
