Plaza de Doña Sancha - Torreón is a fascinating landmark in Covarrubias, Spain, located in the Crooked Square of Covarrubias. This 11th century building is the only surviving monument from the Castilian Renaissance, and it has been marvelously preserved in its original condition. It is dedicated to Doña Sancha Manrique de Lara, who was the daughter of Alfonso IX, King of León. Its facades feature Islamic, Gothic and Renaissance styles, and its intricately carved stone balconies are a sight to behold. Inside, visitors can see the upper room, which is decorated with coffered ceilings and wood paneling, and a spiral stone staircase. The plaza is also home to a number of local festivals in which processions carrying lances and flags make their way around the city's streets. Visitors can also visit Covarrubias' charming cobblestone streets and narrow alleys. It's a great place to explore and get lost in the city's ancient history.
