📍 Mexico
Playa Miramar is a broad sandy beach on the Gulf of California coast of Guaymas, offering a quieter, more open shoreline than the city’s port district. Its setting captures one of coastal Sonora’s defining contrasts: blue water beside an arid landscape of muted earth tones and sparse vegetation. The gently curving beach, low horizon, and typically calm-looking surface create clean compositions, while changes in the tide reveal bands of wet sand that reflect the sky. Warm late-day light brings out the ochre colors of the surrounding coast and gives the water a silvery or copper sheen. The beach is also a local recreation area, so swimmers, fishing boats, and families often add a lived-in sense of place to photographs.
