Place du Carrousel is a public square in central Paris, France, located at the junction of the eastern edge of the Tuileries Garden and the western end of the Rue de Rivoli. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in Paris as it is near the magnificent Louvre museum. The Place du Carrousel is mainly known for its equestrian statue of Napoleon I, which was unveiled in 1850. Visitors can also find the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel, which marks the entrance to the Rue de Rivoli, and the Desseins du Carrousel, which is an ornamental fountain located in the north-east corner of the square. The Carrousel arcades provide a sheltered passageway, full of shops and restaurants, and the Arcades du Carrousel, containing a selection of shops, are located at the southern end of the square. The Place du Carrousel is an ideal spot for taking a break and soaking in some of the atmosphere of the city.
