Plac Europejski in Warsaw, Poland, is an iconic public square located in the historic district of Śródmieście. It features an Obelisk of Kings and an impressive fountain, surrounded by grand monuments, such as the famed Palace of Culture and Science. The square also hosts many cultural events including concerts, fairs, and holiday celebrations. The focal point of the square is the Obelisk of Kings, a 30m tall granite monument made of eight wedged pieces. This structure was dedicated to the heroes of the 1944 Warsaw Uprising and was designed by sculptor Mieczysław Welter. There are several other landmarks in Plac Europejski, including the Palace of Culture and Science, the Old Warsaw Stock Exchange and the Ratusz Arcade. The popular Nowy Świat street is home to trendy restaurants, cafes, boutiques, and art galleries.
