The Pilsum Lighthouse can be found at the border between East Frisia and the Netherlands. It is located about 10 km away from the North Sea beach and is considered to be one of the oldest lighthouses in Germany as it has been lit from 1872 till first half of the 20th century. The tower is made of red bricks and can reach up to 30 m in height. It is the only lighthouse in Krummhörn, therefore making it a sight that should not be missed. Pilsum Lighthouse today is a landmark and historical relic, located in an area of marshland and farmland that is a great area for walking and cycling. There are a number of two-locally owned restaurants near the area, so travelers can also take a break here. Visitors can also admire the interesting surrounding landscape right here.
