Pilatus is a popular mountain located in Alpnach, Switzerland. This mountain is an important tourist attraction and hiking destination in the region. Surrounded by miles of stunning alpine scenery, the summit of Pilatus stands at just over 2,132m, making it the highest point in the Canton of Lucerne. From the top you can enjoy sweeping views out across the lake and can even see the 'monstrous' shapes of the Swiss Alps. Accessibility to this remarkable peak is via cable car or cog wheel train which connect the surrounding lakeside towns with the summit. With an alpine environment and viewing points as far as Lake Lucerne and across the Alps, it is no wonder why Pilatus is an extremely popular tourist attraction. While on the mountain you can enjoy multiple attractions including the popular panoramic round trip, the Dragon Ride (a mountain coaster), and the Pilatus Summer toboggan run. With unlimited possibilities to explore the summit, there is always something to do or something to see here.
