📍 United Kingdom
Pike O’ Stickle is a 709-metre fell among the Langdale Pikes, rising above the north side of Great Langdale in the Lake District, west of Ambleside. Its rounded, steep-sided rock summit gives it a distinctive profile against the neighbouring ridges. The mountain also forms part of the prehistoric Langdale axe-making landscape: fine-grained volcanic stone from its slopes was worked into Neolithic axes that circulated widely across Britain. These crags therefore preserve a connection between the Lakeland landscape and ancient networks of craftsmanship and exchange. Seen from the valley, the rocky dome and surrounding pikes rise above pasture, dry-stone walls and scattered farms, creating a striking contrast between the settled valley floor and the bare upland rock.
