Built in 1872 and first lit in 1872, Pigeon Point Lighthouse is one of the tallest and brightest lighthouses in California. The Pigeon Point Light Station has been designated a California Historic Landmark. There are also guided tours around the lighthouse available daily, providing information about the history and technology of lighthouses. The area has several nearby hiking trails for visitors to explore.
